Artist's Comments

OMFG, is this an X-Men fanart? It's been a long time since I ever posted anything X-Men related here, no?
Havok is my favorite Summers brother (and the only Summers brother that I like, to be honest). I'm fond of his plasma powers, the way they work (first he needs to charge from ambient cosmic energy, the glowing thingie on his suit helps him in storing it) and the way his energy signature looks, of course :D
I wanted him to look more prettyboy-ish but the angry expression somewhat spoiled his facial features. I wouldn't want to be in the place of the one who is about to get a taste of those plasma rings :P

He's gorgeous. Awesome art and special effects! I like the danger sign in the background. Looks like he's defending or attacking something important.

What does the plasma do? Electric shock?

Thank you :) I wanted him to look menacing, as he really needs that nowadays, when he's in the middle of a huge fight in Shi'Ar space, against his evil brother Vulcan and his forces. I hope Havok and Polaris will eventually kill that bastard!
I think his plasma burst has rather a melting effect (sudden rise of temperature) than an electric shock on the victim. In one of the comics (I checked it for reference pics), he causes the flatscan aggressor's pistol to melt into his hand - ouch! (Wikipedia or Comicvine has a much better explanation of Havok's powers and how they work. I like it how they describe it in details.)

You've made Havok look powerful. I just remember the sweet surfer dude from the evo series so I'm not menaced yet.
So they're not decimated? Is Vulcan the the long lost brother.

Wow! FLAWLESS VICTORY! He looks incredible, and manly! (didn't you say your men usually look feminine?)
Frankly, I didn't know Scott had a brother. He seems pretty badass. I like his suit a lot

The effects, textures, small details... I can tell you've worked hard on this piece, I feel that you've done well in all aspects. I particularly like the teeth, it's usually something people neglect or just don't get to look realistic, but you gave even those alot of TLC.

Your logic confuses the shit out of me; therefore, is it still logic?
:iconladymadcat:
Yes, he is, sadly. He's quite a bit of an Exodus-ripoff IMO (introduced as someone overly powerful, often depicted with a similar power signature), but that's not the reason I hate him. He's the power-hungry imbecile who wants to conquer and destroy everything and everyone, while he's just an emo kid on the inside. I can't stand characters who are nothing more than an outburst of anger.
Havok retained his powers, and Polaris got hers back via Apocalypse's technology (he wanted to make her into one of his horsemen but he got defeated, fortunately Lorna's powers stayed :))

Thank you :)
Cyclops has not one, but two brothers. But Havok is more badass than Cyclops and Vulcan together :D
BTW, I'm pretty sure this character is the reason for the spelling of Havik's name - Since the "k" usually replaces the "c" in the MK universe, "Havoc" would've been "Havok" - but Midway probably knew about the X-Men character so they decided to name their Cleric of Chaos "Havik" (pronounciation is the same anyway). I even remember this being debated at the MK boards back when MKD came out :)
